😳Learning Difficulties In Children😳

Learning difficulties is a general term used for children who may have problems and difficulties in their learning. Children with learning difficulties are as able as any other child, but they might be having some trouble in one aspect of learning. These children may face difficult with reading, problems with number skills and trouble writing.😢
Children with learning difficulties tend to manage well outside of school, but when it comes to school, it might be an unhappy place or a place that is outside their comfort zone. It can become a place where they feel they can not live up to expectations that are set for them or reach the standards of their peers.
They may also feel misunderstood and mistakenly be seen as lazy students. They always hear the comment, you can do better if you try or study harder. This can increase their frustration and discomfort in school.

There are many causes that may cause a child to have learning difficulties :-
1. Intellectual disability
2. Physical problems: some health problems lead children to miss school and get behind on some tasks.
3. Visual and auditory problems:
Eyesight or hearing problems is one of the primary issues that need to be checked if you notice your child having any trouble at school.
4. Family problems: for example, divorce can affect that child emotionally, which in turn affects his school performance.
5. Problems at school: bullying for example is one of the most common problems children face at school. This may worry the child to an extent where he might not be able to think about school work.

What can parents do?👫

Early recognition of any learning difficulties is important. If you notice a fall in your child's grades and that they are having difficulty in some areas, make sure to contact your child's teacher and ask if there is an assessment that be done at school. If that is not provided then take your child to a child or educational psychologist for help.

Build your child's self esteem:💪🚶

Your child might realize that he is not managing as well as others.
He may start doubting his own ability, which has an effect on his own self-esteem. It is important that he is motivated or else he may stop trying. Praise him for trying and succeeding. Encourage hobbies, participate with him and most off all, let him know he is loved and special no matter what he can or can't do.
